An Attempt to Quit

An Attempt to Quit

How much for that rope?

However, Kundan could not hear the voice of Sanjay he was busy with other customers especially the lady who came to buy Kapasia Edible oil. It seems Kundan was enjoying her bargaining habit.

What else madam? Kundan asked politely to the lady.

He was never so polite and happy with me even I buy without bargaining and useless chit-chat. He must treat everyone with the same gesture. What causes him biased with me or rather the whole men community. Leave it what do I have to do with it? That’s how this unfair world and its unfair people behave.

How much for the r…?

That’s it, just pack it I do not want anything else your prices are the highest in the area, I will buy other stuff from Radhe Bajar. Said the lady before Sanjay could complete his words.

Oh Madam trust me I always give special rates to you. Replied Kundan. I sold it for ₹223 but ₹210 for you. I keep the lowest margin possible for you madam.

I know you very well, take ₹200. Said the lady while giving four notes of ₹50 each.

He would not give it to her for ₹200 because yesterday he charged ₹223 to me for the same he asked for ₹23 change even. And why the hell he is giving edible oil at such a discount to her and not to me. What is wrong with me or what is right with the lady.

As you say madam Ji, said Kundan while giving the package, please visit again.

Sanjay was not happy with it he does not know the reason but this is what happens to him everywhere.

How much for that rope? He asked loudly enough so that it reaches Kundan's ear which was open for a lady anytime but not for men.

It is worth ₹300. Please give change.

Who the hell does demand change of ₹300 I think he is checking my patience level. Let him do what he wanted to. That’s too much for this. Why everything is so costly around me. But why I am even thinking of it now. This may be my last purchase and I would not be buying anything after this. Let Kundan take ₹300 at least he would be happy.

Fine, give it and at least you would be happy. He said to the shopkeeper and gave change. I hope it would be strong enough?

Kundan did not reply and gazed his eyes onto another lady coming towards his shop.

Have you brought the pen for Nyra, his mom asked him for the second time but he did not utter a word. I forget, he said after a while. Then go and get the pen for your little sister at least do one thing rightly, said mom in a harsh voice. What would I be going to do with this rope now? Return it.

I cannot even die by myself. Why does mom want me to return it? Does not she know that returning things to Kundan hurts more than anything?

At least she would have asked why I bought that rope? But not, after all, she is a mom and why God has created moms emotionless. His anger and trouble were hovering over his head but he even doesn't know why it was happening to him? He thought to throw that rope into the well then not return home.

But he knew that it is not possible. He thought Nyra needed a pen and I am the one who would help her indeed. He loved Nyra a lot and he knows that the mom would pass on every burden to her if he quit this world. Quitting the world would  not be a solution to his problems. Nyra would be doing every chore that he is doing now and would also suffer mom's scolding. How would Nyra bear the pressure into her mind, if I suicide? Quitting this world would just pass the burden to Nyra and he does not want Nyra too to suffer from such mental pressure.

I want to return it and need the pen then refund the rest of the amount, said Sanjay with fear.

Why the hell did you buy it if you wanted to return it? You are free but that does not mean you would do such kind of time passes. You know I do not take things back once sold, shouted Kundan loud enough everyone could hear while giving the pen.

Give the refund, please.

I need a change of ₹5 for the pen only then you would get your refund.

I do not have change.

Then go and bring the change if you need your refund.

Sanjay was losing his control he wanted to kill not only  Kundan rather everyone there for this. His blood was boiling.

Here is the pen, I need ₹5 change because Kundan asked for this if I want a refund.

His mother shouted loudly how could you be so careless didn't you have a mouth to open to ask for change from him. Oh god please give him at least some mind.

Mom took her scarf and headed to Kundan's shop along with Sanjay.

How do you dare not to give a refund, what do you think of yourself. I send my child to you because I want them to be trained, to learn daily chores, to learn to talk to people, to understand how the world works.  Don't you have any humanity this is how you behave with the children?

Just re....

Oh madam Ji, you got me all wrong madam Ji, said Kundan before she completed, in very softly with folding hands and a fake smile. How could I deny for refund Sanjay must have heard me wrong. I just said if you have a  ₹5 coin please give me else I can give you ₹295 but he did not hear and went away. Nothing to worry Ji, please take your refund. Please forgive me if I did anything wrong.

Sanjay's leg was vibrating. He could not believe the acting skills of Kundan. Please, mom, he is lying, he behaved rudely and clearly ask for change from me then only I came home. He was fearing that mom would believe Kundan and would beat him now in front of everyone.

Oh Shutup Kundan, mom said loudly and took ₹300 from him. I thought it was time to get a slap. I know my child very well said mom while hugging me tightly with her hand on my head.

It was all against what I thought. I hated my mind for thinking such negativity. I was never alone in this world. My superwoman was with me all the time. I understood everything with her one hug that she wanted to me be a good boy who is never afraid of anything. I started loving her again and thought it was better he decided not to quit this world or else I would have lost this amazing moment.

Life gives us trouble every time but all we need is to deal with it and wait for the right hug that gives the solution to every problem. Your hug may vary from person to person, age to age, time to time, and mind to mind. All one needs is to know their hug. The hug can be in the form of income, relation, marks, land, court case results, money, getting gadgets we need, love, etc. All one needs is to wait for the right hug rather than quitting.

The Flour Box

Ajay went towards the door as the bell rang again and again. It must be the milkman , murmured Ajay . He opened the door and took the milk and newspaper. Before he close the door, saw a copper box which he  never saw before .  What kind of box is that, and went towards the box and  opened the box. This is wheat flour, what the crap it is. Whom  it belongs to ? Why it is at my door ? Ajay thought in his mind.  He confirmed with his neighbours,it may belongs to them, but they denied.  This is unusual, he made phone call to his friend Shardul and mention the scene , and asked what to do ? Shardul ( laughing): What ! You got a box of flour and need my help with that? Oh it’s okay , take the box and use it Man, it’s not a big deal. Get a chill pill brother !  Though Ajay knew Shardul is taking it ligtly, nevertheless he agreed to use it. Ajay kept the box in the kitchen and left the box open mistakenly and went to pick Shardul at his home for going to  ...
