Paradox of Life

Got a chore for you Leonard. . Said George loudly.
Leonard: I’m not really interested daddy. Lemme enjoy this beautiful morning at least. I know you wanna me to clean the backyard.
George : Oh C’mon Leonard ! Do this chore and you’ll get a pie .
Leonard : Daddy please I’m grown up now. Don’t get manipulated with pie.
George wanna Leonard to clean the backyard as it rained heavily last night , though the climate was clear and lovely today. They stay in an independent apartment which looks more like a cottage. There was a red maple tree in their house which makes up it. It was the glue that holds the beauty of the house. And an old linden tree with no leaves in front of their house.
George hung a tyre into the tree to make a hammock there for Leonard when he was a toddler. George wants Leonard to enjoy the hammock as he himself did in his childhood but Leonard never liked it. George takes Leonard at the hammock everyday during Leonard’s childhood but he never swings on that. George doesn't know yet why Leonard dislikes it.
The hammock is still hanging there. Though we call it madness but George wanna Leonard to enjoy it there.
Oh Leonard ! My sweet pie! I’ll take you out on my bicycle. I hope now you would be willing to clean the backyard. Said George.
Leonard : Conditionally agreed. You know what I mean.
George: Gee, I will let you ride it too. Now please come.
Leonard cleaned the backyard and George took him on a ride. They do roam around the house.
They reached at the back side and suddenly noticed that there was water coming like a river flowing. It seems like a flood. Suddenly it was announced that the village had been hit by flood.
The village was near the Watery Dam that was overflowing because of heavy rain. Everyone from the village shifted to a higher place. George and his family (his wife Binny and Leonard ) went towards Panny's place which was situated at higher hills. Penny and George were friends.
Penny knew that George would definitely visit as the village has been flooded. She was eagerly waiting for. She has a daughter named Cathy who was beautiful like heaven and Leonard likes her too much. That’s why Leonard was too happy to visit her house. George was happy too. Binny and Cathy’s husband Linklater were not so happy , god knows why.
They all reached Cathy's . George hugged Penny. Leonard and Cathy wanted a hug too but couldn’t in front of parents.
They stayed in the guest house .Penny and Linkleter was out of money as they were vertical oor. They wanna prepare the meal but did not had money. Binny knows all these hence he was carrying money and insisted Leonard to buy some bread and vegetables.
Cathy : I too wanna go with Leonard , will help him in locating the shops.
Penny : okay !
They both went some far from home and suddenly Penny hugged Leonard. Leonard felt amazing.His chest filled with joy. Leonard felt like flying in the sky. He tightened his arm. They both lost in the hug. Leonard smells the beauty of Cathy.
Then they move towards the shop. They both don’t utter a word. Leonard touches Cathy’s chick and said, You're beautiful, I wanna be yours. Take me somewhere dear.
Cathy: I’m feelin same here.
They reached home. Penny made dinner. Everyone had it. Everyone one was in the house.
Linklater was sitting outside alone.
Hey what happened ? Said Binny .
Linklater : Oh hi ! Ma’am . Nothing everything is fine just thinking of my financial condition. I’m almost a bagger.
Binny : Oh never say that again , we are here.
Linklater: My daughter is at 16 and I wanna her to be married to someone so that at least she can live happily. She has her life and she can do what she wants. I need a family for her which allows her to do what she wants.
Binny : Don’t mind if I offer something.
Linklater : I would never . You helped as many times. You’re next to Jesus for me.
Binny : George doesn’t have much time now , he is suffering from cancer. Leonard doesn’t know this. I wanna Leonard and Cathy to get married before anything happens to George.
Linklater: Oh that’s amazing , It’s great. I would be happy to.
Binny was happy too as she wanna a girl for her 17 year old boy. And this was a perfect match.
Hey Cathy ! Please come here . Said Linklaer.
Cathy came slowly.
Linklater: Baby ! I wanna ask you something, you please don’t get panicked. Answer yes or no as you want. I wanna you to marry Leonard .
Cathy agreed. Leonard heard all this from behind.
Well ma’am we are okay . Now it’s your turn to ask Leonard. Said Linklater.
I’m okay , I’m happy to. Said Leonard.
Oh you spied on us? My sweet pie. Said Binny
They went inside and informed George and Penny about this. They both were happy. Penny again hugged George.
In the very next morning the flood had converted into a river .The house was half fill with water. The dam ripped out. There was water everywhere. Penny went to the guesthouse to check’ em out. Everyone was safe.
After a couple of days they went back to their house as the flood decreased and arranged the marriage. George’s health gets deteriorated month by month.
It’s been one year since Leonard's marriage and Cathy was in her last days of pregnancy. Leonard has started earning by working at a Primary school as an accountant. George’s health is too critical now on the other hand Cathy had labour pain. Leonard takes both of them to hospital.
It was a paradox for Leonard. On one hand he was blessed with a baby boy and on another his father was too serious.
The Dr informed Leonard that George could not live more than 12 hours . He was in his last breaths. It's better to take him home. Let him die in peace.
They all came home. George stayed at the tree and saw the hammock. The baby was crying like hell . Cathy passed through the tree and the baby stopped crying. George urges her to stay near the tree.
Leonard took the baby in his hand and set into the hammock. George was surprised. His eyes get wet. George told Jesus : Oh lord what a tremendous pleasure you gave me during my last time. I always wanna Leonard to enjoy this hammock and now his son is enjoying it. George that was only my last wish. I can’t hold anymore now. Get up and hug me. Leonard hugs his dad.
Geaorge loses life after the hug. Leonard felt like hell. Oh lord ! Everyone cries.The do’s of Lord are not understandable. On one hand dead father and one hand a new born son.
Cathy gave hands to Leonard. Life has high pace of change.
